Junior Cycle and Transition Year students excited about Geometry? You bet! Loreto students are using graphing calculators during maths class to digitally sketch their geometry constructions.

Once sketched, students then use animation to explore propositions in relation to their constructions. By projecting her sketch to the rest of the class, a student can “tell the story” of her construction.

The graphing calculator is the Texas Instrument Voyage 200 and the application is Geometer's Sketchpad. The piloting of this equipment was facilitated by Ireland's National Centre for Technology in Education (NCTE).
