North and South - The Childnet Challenge

The 2004 Childnet Challenge brought together 24 students from both sides of the Irish border and encouraged them to work together on a number of educational scavenger hunts in Belfast and Dublin.

The use of ICT was a key component of the project as students were provided with the latest mobile phone technologies to capture their experiences. In mixed teams, they then used their content to produce short digital films that celebrated their week. Four Loreto students and two Loreto teachers were among the participants from the South.

Managed by Childnet International, the Childnet Challenge was funded and supported by The Vodafone Foundation and The Digital Hub, Dublin.
