On 21 March 2003 - Spring Day in Europe, Loreto students went online to discuss and debate the future of Europe with Dick Roche, Irish Minister of State with responsibility for European Affairs, and students from four other secondary schools across Ireland.

From Reform of the CAP to Enlargement to the need for an EU Parliament, the two hour debate was spirited, fun and enlightening. With the war in Iraq in the forefront of everyones' mind, the need for Europe to have a common defense policy was passionately debated.

For a number of Loreto students, this was their first experience in using a chat environment for educational purposes. They're looking forward to their next!
