When senior cycle student Ann decided to choose the attack on Pearl Harbor as the topic of her online research project, little did she know how personal her research would become.

Using her school email account, Ann contacted and interviewed four different survivors from the Pearl Harbor attack. They detailed to her what they were doing on the day, what happened to their fellow soldiers and how they’ve gone on to cope despite the tragic memories.

Aaron “Red” Bagley, Quartermaster on the USS West Virginia, was so impressed with Ann’s interest, that not only did he post her a copy of his ship’s log book and photos, but he also sent her a three-videotape documentary about the attack. Ann sent Red a piece of Waterford Crystal.
